For surau permitted to hold congregational prayers, only 50 people are allowed for Friday and obligatory prayers, while 50 male congregants are allowed for tarawih prayers.

Amirudin also said that with the implementation of the MCO, Ramadan bazaar operation in all the six districts involved would no longer be allowed starting this Saturday (May 8).

The decision, he said, was made following a proposal by the state government, a report by the Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) and on advice by the Health Ministry due to a spike in Covid-19 cases.

“Of this number, Selangor recorded the highest at 22,099 cases or 27.7 per cent, whereas Kuala Lumpur recorded 7,019 cases or 8.8 per cent."
