NST: Inter-district travel allowed for parents in Selangor until Friday to send, pick up children from school
KUALA LUMPUR: Inter-district travel will be allowed for parents in Selangor until Friday to enable them to send and pick up their children from school.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the ministerial meeting on Covid-19 agreed to facilitate the parent's movement before the Hari Raya school holiday.
"This is despite the Movement Control Order (MCO) in six districts in the state that starts on Thursday," he said in a press conference today.
Earlier, he announced that the MCO would be imposed on six districts in Selangor – Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak , Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang –from Thursday till May 17. The other three districts – Kuala Kuala Selangor, Sabak and Hulu Selangor – will remain under Conditional MCO.
The decision, he said, was made following a proposal by the state government, a report by the Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) and on advice by the Health Ministry due to a spike in Covid-19 cases.
