Selangor Journal: Selangor’s importance to national economy undeniable — State rep
SHAH ALAM, July 3 — The Department of Statistics Malaysia’s report published yesterday indicates that Selangor is a very important state in contributing to Malaysia’s economic growth, said Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim.
The Kota Damansara state assemblyman said the economic activity value for the state amounted to RM406.1 billion, thus making history as the first state to achieve this figure.
“This can be seen since (Menteri Besar) Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari took over the administration, Selangor’s performance has increased year by year, starting from 24.1 per cent in 2019 to 25.9 per cent in 2023,” he told Media Selangor.
Izuan added that the administration with Amirudin at the helm is on the right track, with the services, construction, and manufacturing sectors providing the most economic output.
He also congratulated the Menteri Besar on behalf of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat Youth wing, which he heads, for the achievement of his team, with the support of the civil servants who also contributed to this success.
