Selangor Journal: MB encourages entrepreneurs to apply for funds to increase business productivity
SHAH ALAM, April 1 — Micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs in Selangor are encouraged to apply for assistance of up to RM30,000 via the Selangor Madani Entrepreneur Fund (DUMS).
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said RM2 million has been allocated this year to help entrepreneurs enhance the productivity of their products and services.
“This year, the state government is expanding DUMS’ scope to include the creative economy sectors, like multimedia, cultural arts, and cultural heritage.
“Interested entrepreneurs can apply at the District and Land Offices throughout Selangor. Hopefully, this fund can help develop their businesses to a more advanced level,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Last month, the state government launched DUMS to assist small entrepreneurs in increasing their productivity, with up to RM30,000 in assistance.
DUMS, a rebranding of the Selangor Micro Entrepreneur Fund, was introduced in 2015 to help small traders in the state increase operational productivity while easing their capital burden when purchasing business equipment.
Amirudin said the state government had spent RM20.06 million to this end, involving 1,029 micro-entrepreneurs who have been successfully assisted since the initiative’s introduction until last year.
