Fresh Solutions with Selangor Agro Market

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it severely affected supply chains and storage issues  related to the state’s fresh food supplies. This major issue was instantly addressed with the  Selangor Agro Market (SAM) initiative to cushion the blow of global lockdown and maintained the sustainability of especially local agropreneurs. This led us to develop further solutions regarding the state’s food security.

Under the Food Security pillar and the welfare of Selangor’s farmers as well as fishermen, the AgroData Selangor initiative was introduced to scale up land utilization and smart farming, channeling RM50 million for initiatives in partnership with Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor (PKPS) and consolidating the state’s agricultural and food supply chain ecosystem digitally with SELDEC.

Selangor Agro Market proved that this initiative provided intangible benefits that helped us build a more sustainable agricultural workforce and gain better perspective on Selangor’s food security concerns, leading to a more holistic approach to rehabilitating our post-pandemic economy and beyond.
