Selangor Journal: Thousands of training offers to help Selangorians increase income at Selangor Freelance
KLANG, Oct 28 — The Selangor Freelance initiative by the state government is offering 5,000 training opportunities to increase digital freelance working skills, as well as the chance to generate additional income.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative, in cooperation with Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad and independent talent platform Workana, will enable the people in the state to learn new skills.
“Participants will undergo independent worker training sessions by Workana, they will be trained to take advantage of work as freelancers, as well as use Workana to generate income.
“Those who end their training will receive RM400 from the state government, along with the chance to apply for digital freelance employment via Workana,” he said during the launch of Selangor Freelance at Hotel Wyndham Acmar earlier today.
Amirudin added that individuals residing in Selangor aged 18 and above, employed or otherwise, can apply to join at http://selangor.workana.com.http://selangor.workana.com
Earlier on January 20, Amirudin said the initiative is expected to produce over 1,000 job opportunities, and aid those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the initiative was expedited to absorb the economic impact, with a RM10 million allocation.
It is to be implemented in cooperation with several independent worker platforms, to generate additional income via the side economy.
