Selangor Journal: Selangor to forge closer working ties with Apple during US visit — MB
HULU SELANGOR, April 30 — The state government is looking to meet technology giant Apple Inc in the United States (US), during a series of visits next month, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the meeting is a follow-up to previous collaborations carried out via the Selangor State Technical Skills Development Center (STDC).
“I will try to meet Apple. Coincidentally, we have opened an Apple Center of Excellence at STDC. It is the only training centre for the Swift programming language in Southeast Asia.
“I believe close cooperation can be further strengthened towards producing more quality human resources for our state and the nation, in both the present and the future,” Amirudin said.
He was speaking during the Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri open house at Padang Taman Awam Hulu Bernam, yesterday night.
Previously, the Menteri Besar was reported to be leading a delegation of 11 local technology-related companies to the US, from May 1 to May 4, to attend the Select USA Investment 2023 investment summit.
All 11 companies are start-ups involved in various fields including smart transportation, biotechnology, human resource technology, financial technology, and tourism.
Accompanying Amirudin for the summit is state executive councillor for trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, who will also attend the investment roundtable meeting organised by the US Department of Commerce and the California Governor’s Office.
