Selangor Journal: Selangor to double haj incentive to RM2,000 beginning 2026

GOMBAK, July 14 — The state’s Muassasah Haj Incentive will be doubled to RM2,000 in 2026 compared to the current RM1,000, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced today.

He said the revision was made to help reduce the financial burden on pilgrims from Selangor who perform haj.

“This year, we have already distributed the incentive to over 3,000 pilgrims, with each receiving RM1,000, which was already an increase from the RM500 previously.

“The state government also fully sponsored 36 individuals who did not have the financial capacity to perform haj.

“However, for 2026 onwards, we are increasing the incentive to RM2,000,” he said at the Kampung Melayu Wira Damai community hall, here, today.

Amirudin was speaking at an event to distribute aid to Sungai Tua constituency residents.

Previously, it was reported that the state had agreed to increase the Muassasah Haj Incentive from RM500 to RM1,000 this year involving an allocation of RM6 million, benefitting 6,000 prospective pilgrims.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said the Selangor government is aware that existing state initiatives need to be improved to ensure the benefits are better felt by the public.

“We need to improve our workflow, enhance our measures and correct our actions so that the people can benefit. The government also needs to fulfil its responsibilities properly,” he said.

At the same event, Amirudin presented the Haji Muassasah Incentive to 70 individuals who have completed their pilgrimage.

The Gombak MP and Sungai Tua assemblyman also distributed state constituency financial assistance to 65 individuals, raya aid from the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) to two beneficiaries, disaster aid to 31 individuals and made a personal contribution to one person.
