Selangor Journal: Selangor created 89,000 job opportunities, including for Sabahans, Sarawakians – MB

SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Selangor has created 89,000 new job opportunities in the past five years, benefiting not only local residents but also residents from Sabah and Sarawak who moved to the state, said Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Menteri Besar also assured the state administration is continuously striving to ensure that no one is left behind, including those who migrated from other states and are working in Selangor.

“Selangor’s success in contributing 25.5 per cent to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is a result of the workers in Selangor, including those from Sabah and Sarawak.

“We need to look at the overall picture of how the state is progressing. Selangor has always been a preferred destination for many and this becomes our strength with a strong spirit of unity,” he said at the Santai Kaamatan Selangor 2023 event held in Taman Sri Muda, here today.

Also in attendance was the Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

If given the mandate to govern the state for another term,
Amirudin said the state administration is ready to fulfill several requests from Sabah residents in providing facilities for specific events or occasions.

“InshaAllah (God willing)… we can do it and I am confident that a month after the state election, we will immediately approve applications for settlements or areas that can be shared with other communities,” he added.
