Selangor Journal: PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign draws participation of over 500 traders

Shah Alam, Dec 19 — A total of 552 traders were directly involved in the Platform Selangor (PLATS) Masuk Pasar campaign since it was introduced last month.

Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) said this in a post on social media site X following the conclusion of this year’s campaign.

The final leg of the campaign was held at the Taman Puncak Jalil night market in Seri Kembangan on December 15. In all, PLATS visited 13 locations since November 19.

“Twelve morning and night markets in 12 local councils, as well as one location in conjunction with the recent Ban Canal Carnival, have been visited by PLATS ambassadors.

“A total of 552 traders participated in the PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign, while 20,000 digital Rahmah Coupons worth RM5 were distributed to visitors. We hope to meet you again next year,” it said today.

The PLATS Masuk Pasar programme is meant to encourage traders to register themselves under PLATS, as well as to promote the digital platform to the public.

State executive councillor for entrepreneur empowerment Najwan Halimi had said on December 8 that the campaign will be expanded to all Ramadan bazaars in Selangor next year to support entrepreneurial empowerment initiatives.

PLATS, which was first introduced three years ago during the implementation of the nationwide movement control order in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises adapt to business digitalisation.

The platform serves as a promotional tool and digital directory to help expand local businesses.
