Selangor Journal: KDEBWM preps bulk waste bins for festive season collection
SHAH ALAM, Dec 27 — State-owned solid waste management and public cleaning company KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) will supply Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) bins in areas which have been deemed as necessary, for the purpose of bulk garbage collection during the festive season.
Its managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir said the company will cooperate with the local authorities in Selangor, as well as identify these localities prior to the start of the season.
“KDEBWM will carry out the collection of bulk garbage as usual in all local authorities, but during the festive season, we will work with them to supply RORO bins or do a house-to-house collection for residents’ convenience in disposing of festive bulk rubbish.
“The focus will be on areas where the majority of the residents celebrate the festival. For local authorities including Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Klang, each of them has on average 200 locations, respectively,” he said when contacted.
Ramli added that KDEBWM and the local authorities constantly cooperate in ensuring each area obtains good service.
Meanwhile, he said the company is providing services to help Selangor residents in implementing gotong-royong programmes in the state.
The gotong-royong activities being carried out are usually based on the activities or programmes organised alongside the local authorities and state assemblyman.
“In addition, it is also based on the request of local residents. KDEBWM will always proactively inform the public of gotong-royong activities or post-flood cleaning from time to time, through social media including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter,” Ramli said.
Through its social media accounts, KDEBWM is actively conducting gotong-royong and public cleaning in several areas.
This includes eliminating the breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes, cleaning up rubbish, and cleaning up flood waste in affected areas.
