Selangor Journal: Affordable sale prog benefits over 5,000 Subang Jaya residents

SUBANG JAYA, July 23 — More than 5,000 residents of the Subang Jaya state constituency have benefitted from over 10 programmes which offer discounted basic necessities.
Its incumbent state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze said the Jualan Ehsan Rahmah (JER)
programme is always something residents look forward to, particularly those from low-income groups.
“Together with the state government, we will continue to strive in assisting the people so they can benefit from the programmes,” she said during an interview today.
JER’s items on offer include chicken at RM10 apiece, fresh solid beef (RM10 per pack), Grade B chicken eggs (RM10 per tray), 5kg cooking oil (RM25), and 5kg bags of rice (RM10).
Formerly known as Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat, the programme has been extended to December this year, in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.
On May 31, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said JER has resulted in approximately RM18 million in savings for the public, as well as recording RM37 million in sales value.
