At the MIDA Invest Series – Selangor, we're showcasing the full potential of our state as a premier investment destination. Selangor’s robust economic framework, underscored by the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) and the Mid-Term Review, is fueling significant growth. In the first quarter of 2024 alone, we attracted RM12.4 billion in new investments, creating over 8,377 job opportunities.
Our dynamic infrastructure, from state-of-the-art transportation networks to advanced digital services, provides the ideal environment for businesses to thrive. Today, we celebrate Selangor’s pivotal role in Malaysia’s economy, contributing 25.9% to the national GDP in 2023. Surpassing the national economic growth rate with a 5.4% increase, our achievements reflect Selangor’s resilience and forward-thinking vision.
The Selangor state government will continue to work closely with the federal government and industry players, fostering partnerships through industry deals to identify more economic potential and investments, leveraging the implementation of the NIMP 2030.
As mentioned by YB Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of International Trade and Investment in his speech, Malaysia is relying on Selangor for its progress and economic growth.
