According to the official Health Ministry data, the number of cases increased by 87.5 per cent in the last 14 days up to April 8, while the number of hospital admissions recorded an increase of 30.5 per cent.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said the Emirates Astronomical Society's prediction on the Raya date would be discussed at the committee level of the National Fatwa Council.

“These are the government’s measures to ensure that the people can celebrate Ramadan and Hari Raya in a situation where we can still control the prices set,” he told the media after a walkabout at the Selangor Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar at Dataran Esplanade Eco Grandeur Park, Puncak Alam, here, today.

She said for adolescents aged 12 to 18, there were a total of 2,858,927 or 91.9 per cent of this segment who completed the primary dose, while 60,414 or 1.9 per cent had received the first booster dose.
