Five fatalities were reported yesterday, of which two were declared dead on arrival (DOA), taking the death toll in the country to 35,816.

Cases referred to Covid-19 Assessment Centres (CAC) saw a mammoth 27.8 per cent surge while home quarantine observations jumped by 12.6 per cent.

He said cases being monitored by Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) nationwide were also rising.

He said as such, there was no need to close schools at this time and the district health offices would always make a risk assessment on cases.
