Terdahulu pengasas Maahad Hafiz, Abu Haneefa Hussin dalam ucapan alu-aluannya memohon pihak kerajaan negeri mempertimbangkan kawasan tapak yang sesuai untuk maahad tersebut berkembang lebih pesat menjadi institusi pendidikan setaraf universiti.
