The Star: S'gor govt working on Kundang-Tasik Puteri shortcut, says Works Minister

'

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor government has begun work on the shortcut connecting Kundang and Tasik Puteri in Rawang, says Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

The Works Minister said the land on which the road was built comes under the Railway Assets Corporation, and added that it was constructed by the Implementation and Coordination Unit (ICU) under the Prime Minister’s Department.

“We will help them in any way we can, but it does not come under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department or the local council,” said Nanta.

“So in order to resolve this issue, we have to include the road under the state list. Once it is registered, then the road is entitled for allocation under Malaysian Roads Records Information System (Maris) to carry out repair and maintenance work,” he added.

Nanta said that the matter has been brought to the state government's attention and added that he believes the road has been registered.

He said this when speaking to reporters on Monday (Feb 20) when asked to respond to complaints raised by local residents about the road recently.

The shortcut is used by 80,000 residents, especially those who live in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang.

It was reported that the road had not been gazetted by any authorities, and was in dire straits.
