The Malaysian Reserve: Selangor Mega Job Fair to offer over 20,000 jobs
OVER 20,000 job opportunities across various sectors from more than 100 companies will be offered at the Selangor Mega Job Fair Programme on June 10-11, 2022.
The event will be held physically at MBSA Convention Centre Shah Alam in Selangor, to help job seekers, graduates and retrenched workers secure better job opportunities.
Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (picture) said the mega job fair will be a platform for talent matching and job placement, to keep the unemployment rate in Selangor below 4%.
He noted that in the first quarter of this year (1Q22), the rate is at 3.2% which is equivalent to 118,100 people unemployed, noting a slight increase compared to 4Q21 (2.9%:105,300 people).
“These companies will be offering job opportunities and conduct the recruiting process such as walk-in interviews when necessary, aiding an easy hiring process for the workforce.
“We also launched the Selangor Job Portal today, which allows employers and interested participants to pre-register, which will aid in crowd management,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, State Youth Generation Development, Sports and Human Capital Committee chairman Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the programme will also bring in more engagement among the higher learning institutions.
“We are aiming to attract more participation from learning institutions such as setting up booths and expanding the fair to the other districts as well,” he said.
He added that the job fair will also be expanded to specifically cater to sport-related graduates and the sports industry as well as help ex-convicts get back on their feet and have better life opportunities.
Among the participating companies are Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor, Daikin Malaysia Sdn Bhd, DHL Express, DRB Hicom Bhd, Giant Malaysia, Malayan Banking Bhd, Media Prima Digital and more.
