Selangor Journal: Selangor’s daily vaccination rate to reach over 300,000 by end July
KLANG, July 18 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the daily vaccination rate in Selangor is able to reach up to 309,000 by the end of the month.
The Menteri Besar said the figure cited is inclusive of the vaccines delivered via the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax), the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), and the Public-Private Partnership Industrial Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pikas).
“I am confident that if everything is arranged accordingly there would be enough supply for us to reach this figure. After a meeting with PICK coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin on Friday morning, we have aimed to administer 272,000 doses of vaccines a day by 26 or 27 July.
“At present, the daily vaccination rate has reached over 100,000. At the same time, the Selvax Community and Selvax Industry initiatives are running concurrently involving between 6,000 to 7,000 doses,” he said when met after observing the Covid-19 vaccination programme of Taman Desawan residents in Klang Jaya, here, today.
Amirudin said the state is in talks with the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to include the daily data from Selvax into its system.
“The daily data (from Selvax) cannot be recorded daily at the moment. By the end of the month, we hope to see that the number of doses administered would increase in the state,” he said.
On June 15, the Selangor and Federal government have targeted to get at least 80 per cent of the population in the state to be vaccinated by September.
Previously, the daily vaccination rate in the state stood at 43,000. However, efforts have been carried out by both the state and Federal governments to ramp up the vaccination delivery.
