Selangor Journal: Selangor ready to explore sectors outlined in RS-1 with Indonesia - MB
SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor is prepared to explore the sectors outlined in its five-year First Selangor Plan (RS-1) with Indonesia to achieve the state’s mission of becoming the Gateway to Asean.
The areas which can be explored include green and smart industrial parks that align with the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) framework.
Following his visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, he said policies involving Waste-to-Energy, food security, affordable housing, Smart City and Smart State are among the investment opportunities with the republic.
“Despite competing with each other, I emphasise that now is the best time, and there is a need for countries and companies in Southeast Asia to work together to ensure this is the Southeast Asian Century.
“(The effort) also serves a thriving ground for democracy as a platform for economic growth through high-income jobs for the people,” he said in a Facebook post today.
During his visit, Amirudin met with Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) International Affairs manager Yohanes Lukiman in Jakarta to promote Selangor as the gateway to Southeast Asia.
Also present were the state executive councilor for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Najwan Halimi, Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari, and Selangor Public Library Corporation director Datin Paduka Mastura Muhamad.
Kadin is the umbrella organisation of Indonesian business chambers and associations, which focuses on all matters relating to trade, industry, and services.
