Selangor Journal: MB invites Selangor youths to apply for education aid, open to diploma, degree levels
SHAH ALAM, June 21 — Selangor youths have been advised to apply for variable loan assistance, which is open until July 31 to cover their education needs.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the allocation from the Selangor Scholarship Fund is offered to diploma, bachelor’s, and medical degree-level students.
He added the rate of funding will vary according to the level of education and will be given until graduation.
“This special assistance is aimed at helping the children of the state to continue their academic process. Children of Selangor, take advantage of this opportunity and spread it to anyone so interested.
“Continuity of education is one of the most important aspects of life, and the state government is committed to realising our education agenda,” he said in a Facebook post earlier today.
Loan applications were opened at the start of the month, and can be made at https://danapendidikan.selangor.gov.my.
Among the terms and conditions for qualification include the applicant’s parents being natives of Selangor, asides from residing in the state for more than 10 years.
In addition to the assistance, the state government has also implemented various initiatives to strengthen the education agenda.
This includes RM1,000 in assistance to new students from low-income families via Iltizam Mahasiswa Selangor, as well as the provision of SIM cards equipped with free Internet for one year.
