Previously, NIP coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the government targets more than 200,000 people to be inoculated daily starting next month and more than 300,000 people daily in August.
Phase one of the NIP began in February (until April), involving 500,000 frontline members, including health workers.
The second phase (April to August) involves 9.4 million senior citizens, vulnerable groups and the disabled.
The third phase of the NIP would involve adults aged 18 and above and was scheduled to run from May to February next year, targeting around 14 million people.
