Malaysia Kini: COVID-19 (Aug 8): 2,863 new cases, 6 deaths
The Health Ministry reported 2,863 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active cases are continuing on a five-day downtrend, recording 43,875 yesterday.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".
Deaths were reported in Perak (3), Kedah (1), Sabah (1) and Selangor (1).
Over the past week, an average of 7.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,032 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 1,790 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 55 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (113) followed by Johor (91) and Sabah (85).
